FX and Simulation Lead

DisneyToon Studios creates traditional and computer-animated films with memorable characters and heartwarming stories that appeal to audiences of all ages. DisneyToon Studios is a part of Walt Disney Animation Studios, and is home to some of the most talented artists and technicians working in the film industry today.

Responsibilities
• Work closely with the Art Director and CG Supervisor to execute the artistic look of the film through effects and simulation
• Work with Associate Producer to bid, monitor, and define effects development and shot execution time
• Guide shot specific problem solving efforts, as well as aesthetic decisions, pertaining to simulated foliage, crowds and other production defined effects
• Evaluate, improve and maintain technical standards for the effects and simulation pipeline, implementing new tools as necessary
• Apply procedural animation, effects tools and techniques to a variety of situations to simulate physical phenomenon
• Responsible for working with the CG Supervisor while collaborating with the subcontractor on the technical approach of effects dynamics and simulations; including (as necessary) procedural modeling, texturing, shading, animation, lighting, rendering and compositing of effects elements
• Partner with other Digital Department Leads and subcontractor leads to achieve the goals of determining various design and technical solutions for the production
