The Institute for Software Integrated Systems (ISIS) in the School of Engineering at Vanderbilt University invites applications for a Post Doctoral Researcher position in the area of Data Mining applied to Fault Diagnosis and Prognosis. This position is tied to a NASA-funded project titled “Vehicle Integrated Prognostics Reasoner.” The Post Doc, supervised by Professors Biswas and Koutsoukos, will be involved in the development and evaluation of data mining algorithms that can derive refined parameters for diagnostic and prognostic analysis in vehicle level reasoners, and also apply causal structure generation methods to discover new relations between health and prognostic indicators that help refine vehicle level diagnosis and make it more accurate. A large database of flight data is available for this research. Our goal is fill the position by the end of October.
