Software Engineer

Description

Core R&D Software Engineers design, develop and maintain software tools and frameworks that form the basis of the production pipeline or are key to specific workflows.

The Core R&D team will primarily focus on solutions that benefit the entire studio or for longer-term development on a production. Because the studio is still growing, there will be a requirement to develop software and provide support to satisfy more immediate production demands.
There are also opportunities to be involved in research of advanced techniques and evaluation of new technologies.

• Development of plug-ins, tools or frameworks based on the requirements of production for various applications/platforms
• Develop detailed specifications, proposals and management plans for projects
• Maintenance of existing tools and support artists in their production tasks
• Work with senior production staff to ensure delivery of quality solutions for production
• Mentor or lead junior engineers and TDs
• Assist or lead the implementation of "best practice" software engineering principles and processes
