Lead Structure Environment Artist
Description
Trion Worlds is seeking a Lead Structure Environment Artist to help build a new intellectual property in the online game space. The successful candidate will lead a team of Environment Artists, and work with Designers to create final art for interiors and structures.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Work with Art Director, Terrain Lead, Designers, Programmers, and Concept Artists from early concept stages to completion of assets
• Communicate across disciplines to request support when necessary to meet project goals
• Carry out the specified art style determined by the Art Director
• Identify major problem areas and work to meet expectations while striving to accomplish visual consistency and quality within the game
• Lead other artists in the successful creation of environment models, UV mapping, lighting, and shader setups, including all applicable texture maps
• Ensure assets in each file, file structure, and storage are clean and organized
• Use the master schedule to ensure that artists are scheduled for each milestone, taking into account the needs of other departments
• Review and approve all in-game assets
• Motivate artists produce quality work, ensuring that each asset meets the budget requirements for an open world/MMO style game
• Keep abreast of changes and improvements made to the game engine and production pipeline during development
• Work with the Technical Artists and Tools Programmers to create and augment environment workflow to speed up production
• Train, mentor, and assist other Environment Artists with modeling, texturing, lighting, optimization, and time management
• Help other Environment Artists solve art, design, and technical issues
