3D Story Production Supervisor

Description

Supervises, schedules, and manages the 3D Story Department in collaboration with the 3D Story Lead and 3D Story Technical Lead.

Primary Responsibilities:
* Working closely with the AP and the 3D Story Lead, the Production Supervisor is responsible for the day to day oversight & operations of the 3D Story Department. The Production Supervisor will drive established schedules, and will facilitate the organization and tracking of projects as assigned. The goal is to ensure 3D Story production is smooth, efficient, professional and meets desired performance goals.
* The Production Supervisor directly manages the 3D Story Production Coordinator and various other coordinators, production assistants and other production personnel. She/He will also train and mentor personnel as needed.
* In collaboration with the AP, will assign appropriate manpower, workspace and scheduling to ensure completion of production goals.


Scheduling, Tracking & Reporting:
* Works closely with AP to create Seasonal schedules for the 3D Story department.
* Proactively identifies potential problems/issues, particularly those which will have an impact on the schedule and budget.
* Responsible for forecasting, tracking and reporting on the day-to-day work flow for the story department for all Episodes. Drives the use of the internal database, production tracking milestone spreadsheets, schedules-in training and development programs, and rolls out internal SOP (standard operation procedures) for 3D Story.
* Generates and distributes weekly updates reflecting production progress and logistics.


Cross Departmental Coordination:
* Liaise between all departments to ensure that all necessary materials/assets/etc are prepared and available for story.
* Liaise with overseas studios as it relates to 3D Story and Layout. Follows-up on all correspondence with our overseas partners related to the 3D Story and Technical departments.
* Works in conjunction with the Software and Animation Tools Group departments to assist in prioritizing technical needs in the story and technical divisions.
* Works closely with the Asset Department to ensure that proxy deliveries are met for the scene set-up team.
* Works closely with the Post Production Supervisor to allocate time for Editorial Reviews and Deliveries overseas.
* Attend Story Review sessions with the Supervising Director and Executive Producer on a Bi-Weekly basis.
* Oversees management of work with ancillary departments within Lucasfilm i.e. Publicity, Licensing and Marketing, when requested.
* Works in conjunction with the Supervising Director and Episodic Directors to make sure that they have the materials they require to produce their episodes in an efficient, timely manner.


HR And Hiring:
* Partners with HR, Recruiting, and Training to communicate requirements and facilitate staffing, hiring and training for the 3D Story department.
* Mentors and trains the story department in performing tasks relative to the overall professional development of the story artists and the story production team by setting expectations and providing feedback for their growth while working closely with the Story Lead.
* Drives personnel evaluations such as yearly performance reviews and works with Associate Producer, 3D Story Lead and Recruiting to balance talent across the teams.
