Assistant Technical Director (Feature)

Description

The Assistant Technical Director will facilitate a smooth running show and provide hardware, network, and support service, under the guidance and direction of the Digital Production Supervisor.

* Responsible for setting up the resources and standards for the production. Coordinates with the CG supervisor, Digital Production Supervisor, Production, and other Leads (animation, layout, TD, comp, etc.) to determine the needs and appropriate paradigm to use in setting up the show. Responsible for monitoring the production, once running, to ensure compatibility with established department setup and operating standards.

Duties involved in the initial show setup include but are not limited to the following:
- Shot Directory Arrangement.
- Creation and maintenance of web pages for the show.
- Knowledge of show-specific scripts.
- Modifying scripts and ensuring all are optimized.
- Completion of assigned tasks as directed by the CG, FX, Sequence Supervisor or Producer.
- Diplomatically ensuring artists maintain comprehensive file systems.

* Serves as a liaison between CG staff and all other disciplines.
* Efficiently solves and works with other departments to solve production problems.
* Maintains daily communication with Render Support, if necessary, to ensure investigation of any ongoing problems or issues.
* Quickly and efficiently perform all tasks as directed by the Digital Production Supervisor, assisting the production with scripts/software, resource updates and departmental procedures.
* Responsible for post-show cataloging, show clean-up, and final show report.
* Facilitate integration of new software, hardware and procedures into show-specific pipelines as needed or requested by management.
