Look TD Shader Developer
Description
• Design and write RenderMan\Mantra shaders and DSO’s to create a photorealistic look for film
• Apply procedural shading and scripting techniques
• Develop rendering tools for creatures, environments, props and visual effects.
• Write surface, light, displacement and volume shaders
• Collaborate with Lighting TDs and R&D Programmers to drive the look development of CG assets and write/create shader-based solutions for production needs and ensure shots can be delivered to the very highest standard.
• Build and maintain the VFX toolset (Houdini OTL’s, Maya MEL scripts)
• Translate artistic ability into technical applications
• Work with R&D to ensure that all shaders are optimized, production ready and fit into studio standards and conventions
• Assist in establishing shader writing conventions plus texturing and shading workflow/pipeline
• Will work closely with R&D, FX, Lighting and Pipeline Technical Directors to contribute to cross-departmental workflow improvements
• Provide shader support to the lighting team throughout production
