Qualifications:
Minimum qualifications are an MFA or equivalent. Evidence of successful teaching is required,
preferably in the areas of 3D Animation & Visual Effects.
Preferred qualifications include experience with a diverse
student body similar to that at NMSU, guiding animation students through short
animation productions.
Job Description:
The Creative Media Institute at New Mexico State University
seeks a 3D Generalist with an emphasis in Visual Effects to add to our
faculty. An ideal candidate will have
the leadership skills required to mentor students from story development
through the 3D production process.
Faculty member will demonstrate proficiency in the following: Autodesk Maya, The Foundry’s Nuke (or equivalent),
Story Development, Project Management, Shot/Sequence Design, Lighting,
Compositing, Dynamics/Physics animation.
An example of classes includes: History of Animation, Previsualization,
Visual Effects I & II, Senior Project I & II.
Other responsibilities include serving on departmental
committees, curriculum development, student recruitment and mentorship,
participation in co-curricular activities, and creative scholarship.
